Taylor Swift fans originally thought the male voice at the start of the Lover track “London Boy” was her boyfriend Joe Alwyn, but it’s actually her “Cats” co-star Idris Elba.
The snippet was taken from Elba’s “Late Late Show” interview back in 2017, where he was talking about auctioning off a Valentine’s Day date and raising $750,000 for his chosen charity.
“We could go driving on my scooter, you know just around London,” Elba told Corden, which is the line that features on Swift’s track.
Swift also mentions an array of other stars on her latest LP, with her saying of Drake in “I Forgot That You Existed”: “And I couldn’t get away from ya / In my feelings more than Drake, so yeah.”
She added of Leonardo DiCaprio in “The Man”: “And they would toast to me, oh, let the players play / I’d be just like Leo in Saint Tropez.”
While Bruce Springsteen and Stella McCartney both got a shout-out on “London Boy”.
She crooned of The Boss, “I love my hometown as much as Motown, I love SoCal / And you know I love Springsteen, faded blue jeans, Tennessee whiskey.”
Swift added of McCartney, “Just wanna be with you / Wanna be with you / Stick with me, I’m your queen / Like a Tennessee Stella McCartney.”
