Disney+ Announces Short-Form Show ‘Muppets Now’

On August 23 during the D23 Expo, the House of Mouse announced the Muppets will be coming to Disney+ in 2020.

A short-form unscripted series titled “Muppets Now” will feature some of the iconic characters along with celebrity guest stars.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show is described as “featuring a startling silliness and heartfelt fun.”

No other details on “Muppets Now” were available at the time.

D23 has had numerous announcements, including the short-form series “One Day At Disney” which follows Disney employees. They also announced shorts from Pixar called “Forky Asks A Question” based on the “Toy Story 4” character.

The Disney+ streaming service will launch in Canada on Nov. 12 and will include a mass collection of Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and Disney productions.
