The Disney-owned National Geographic channel is sharing a first look at a new series that promises to march to the beat of its own drum, “The World According to Jeff Goldblum”.
In a new promo for the upcoming series, host Jeff Goldblum teases what viewers can expect.
“This show is a little off the beaten track. And it may be unexpected and surprising. So taste it… and enjoy!” Goldblum exclaims dramatically before cracking himself with what he just said.
“Be forewarned. I’m in the show a lot,” he offers while clips fly by of the “Jurassic Park” star in a variety of different international locales.
He admits that he’s “sorta fascinated by a lot of things,” with a brief snippet of Goldblum reacting in disbelief to a pair of sneakers worth between $12,000 and $15,000. “On boy!” he declares while cradling his head in his hand.
Other clips include one of Goldblum learning how to give someone a tattoo, dancing in a nightclub, riding a horse and joining a synchronized swimming team before he asks, “Can you make a sound like a seagull?”
As Goldblum explains, “I know nothing — that’s the premise. I’m a humble student, and, in fact, kind of a late bloomer… a late Goldblumer.”
He’s also fully aware that his show isn’t exactly typical. “This is what the show is gonna be like,” he says. “So if any of this tempts you, or wearies you, you can make a decision right here.”
“The World According To Jeff Goldblum” debuts Nov. 12 on the new Disney+ streaming service, which launches that same day.
