It’s official: Kit Harington will be joining Angelina Jolie in Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster “The Eternals”.
The announcement was made on Saturday during the second day of Disney’s D23 Expo, currently underway in Anaheim, California.
As The Hollywood Reporter reports, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige made the big reveal while introducing the “Eternals” cast. The former “Game of Thrones” star will play non-Eternal Dane Whitman, a.k.a. Black Knight in the comic book created by Marvel legend Jack Kirby.
In addition to Jolie, the cast of “The Eternals” also includes Harington’s former “GoT” brother Richard Madden, while Feige also announced that Gemma Chan (already a Marvel vet from her role in “Captain Marvel”) is also joining the cast, and will play Sersi.
Along with Madden and Jolie, other members of the cast on hand included Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh and Dong-seok Ma.
According to THR, the session also featured footage of Scarlett Johansson’s upcoming “Black Widow”, which THR describes as having “a vibe of ‘Captain America: Winter Soldier’ meets ‘Mission: Impossible’ — but with its lead characters taking plenty of shots of vodka.”
“The Eternals” is slated to hit theatres in November 2020.
