“Black Panther II” will be roaring into theatres in 2022, with the release date for the upcoming sequel revealed during Marvel Studios’ session on Saturday during Disney’s D23 Expo, currently underway in Anaheim, California.
During Saturday’s Marvel session, reports The Hollywood Reporter, Feige introduced “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler, and reportedly tried to “cajole” him into revealing the title of the upcoming sequel (he didn’t).
However, Coogler did announce that the sequel will be hitting theatres on May 6, 2022.
As Slashfilm reports, Coogler was “tight-lipped on who the villain would be for the sequel,” but told fans, “I’m working on it trying to give fans something special.”
“Black Panther” remains one of of Hollywood’s most successful films, bringing in $1.35 billion at the worldwide box office to capture the #11 spot on the all-time global box office list.
