Taylor Swift is drawing a line between her personal and private life in a new interview.

Fresh of the release of Lover, the singer sat down with The Guardian where she said she keeps her relationship with Joe Alwyn private for a reason.

“I’ve learned that if I do, people think it’s up for discussion, and our relationship isn’t up for discussion,” she said. “If you and I were having a glass of wine right now, we’d be talking about it – but it’s just that it goes out into the world.”

“That’s where the boundary is, and that’s where my life has become manageable. I really want to keep it feeling manageable,” Swift added.

While Swift won’t talk about Alwyn in interviews and rarely appears in public with him, she does make many references to her beau on her new album and in the diary entries.

The two went public in 2017 but she lets her fans in on the fact that the two have been together since the autumn of 2016.

In the song “Paper Rings”, Swift sings the lyrics “I like shiny things/ But I’d marry you with paper rings.”

Her other song “I Think He Knows” she references him.  “He got that boyish look that I like in a man.”
