Now that “The Big Bang Theory” has wrapped, Johnny Galecki is teasing what is next for him.
In a post on Instagram, the actor shared his return to “The Conners” as the on-again-off-again boyfriend of Sara Gilbert’s Darlene Conner, David Healy.
“I may be putting the (literal/figurative) pants of #davidhealy back on for one or two more stories on @theconnersabc this year.”

I may be putting the (literal/figurative) pants of #davidhealy back on for one or two more stories on @theconnersabc this year. Twenty some years later I’m still in awe of this freakass carnie group who adopted me early on and still learn so very much from each of them whenever in their presence. ❤️ ❤️❤️@thesaragilbert #lauriemetcalf
Galecki first played the character on “Roseanne” from 1992 to 1997, then again on the rebooted show in 2018.
After Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet, the show was cancelled then resurrected as “The Conners” with the same cast minus Barr, whose character is presumed dead.
Despite teasing his return, he won’t be a regular on “The Conners”. After spending 12 years as Dr. Leonard Hofstadter on “Big Bang” he told TVLine he needs some “alone” time.
“I think I need a little bit of space from being a series regular again,” Galecki said earlier this year. “I certainly hope to visit as much as possible. That’s kind of my second home… I still have a bit of a high school crush on that character.”
