The full trailer for “Joker” will be released on Wednesday, but leading up to the drop they are teasing fans with clips from the upcoming film.
Viewers are finally getting a look at Robert De Niro’s Murray Franklin, a talk-show host who is crucial in leading Arthur Fleck a.k.a Joker to a life of crime.

De Niro has previously said that he shaped his character as a tribute to his character from Martin Scorsese’s “The King Of Comedy”.
“There’s a connection, obviously, with the whole thing,” the actor said at the Tribeca Film Festival. “But it’s not as a direct connection as the character I’m playing being Rupert many years later as a host.”

The Todd Philips directed film also stars Joaquin Phoenix as the title character, who has been teased in many, many clips on the movie’s Instagram page.
“Joker” will make its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on August 31.
“It’s the most surprising film we’ve got this year… this one’s going straight to the Oscars even though it’s gritty, dark, violent. It has amazing ambition and scope,” Venice artistic director Alberto Barbera told Variety.
After Venice, the film will make its way to the Toronto International Film Festival and the New York Film Festival before hitting theatres on Oct. 4.
