Lizzo took to the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards on Monday night, and her performance is already being heralded as one of the best in VMAs history.

The 31-year-old singer kicked things off with her hit “Truth Hurts”, accompanied by a cadre of twerking backup dancers while a pair of giant inflatable buttocks bounced around behind her, at one point appearing to down an entire bottle of Don Julio tequila.

She then took things to the next level when she segued into “Good As Hell”, offering a powerful message to the audience.

“You deserve to feel good as hell!” she told the crowd, who certainly appeared to feel exactly as she described thanks to the electrifying performance — a reaction shot of a beaming Queen Latifah, clapping enthusiastically on her feet in the audience, pretty much said it all.

Queen Latifah wasn’t the only celeb that Lizzo impressed. Chatting with ET after the VMAs, Lizzo revealed that she received some high praise from none other than Rihanna.

“She DM’ed me to tell me that I performed good,” Lizzo said. “She said I f**ked the stage like it was my side b***h. Don’t get mad, Rihanna. I am not trying to blow up your spot, but that was a hard a** line! I might take that line.”
