Surprisingly, after all his slip-ups, John Travolta is still allowed to present awards.
The MTV VMAs invited Travolta to Monday night’s awards to hand out the moon man for Video Of The Year during which he made multiple mistakes.

It started when the actor said, “I shouldn’t do this because I will just mispronounce sh*t and f**k it up”. By the second time he said it, MTV caught on and managed to bleep him out.
It only went downhill from there.
After announcing that Taylor Swift’s “You Need To Calm Down” won for Video Of The Year, Swift and a number of the video’s stars took the stage to accept the award. Travolta tried to hand the moon man to Jade Jolie, the drag Swift impersonator, who politely laughed the moment off.

A few days after the awards, Travolta addressed the moment on Dallas-Fort Worth’s Hot 93.3.
“There are so many people that bombarded the stage, that I was looking for [Swift]. So the video has me trying to find her, and you know, I thought it was so funny the way it was interpreted. And it’s cool, I didn’t care,” he said. “If I shave my head, it’s headlines. If I mispronounce something, that’s headlines, and I know that about me.”
“Sometimes I fantasize, What if I had given it to [Jolie]? That would have been awesome. I should have just gone all the way with it,” he added. “I have a sense of humour about all of that — I always have — because, look, we’re in pretty good shape on any given day that that kind of thing could make headlines.”
