YTV viewers will soon be meeting a new host, with the teen-themed channel introducing a new face to its lineup.

Meet Tyra Sweet, a musician, comedian and photographer, and although she’s a newcomer to television she’s a seasoned performer.

After taking improv classes at Second City, Sweet was accepted into and completed Second City’s Conservatory Program. She has performed improv, sketch and standup throughout Toronto at venues such as Bad Dog Theatre, Comedy Bar, the Social Capital and Second City.

A native of Oakville, Ont., Sweet is also a violinist, who has been playing since she was 3 years old, and is an alumni of the Young Artist’s Performance Academy at the Royal Conservatory of Music, now known as the Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists.

In addition, Sweet is also a freelance photographer who specializes in portrait and event photography, and has had her work featured in Now Magazine, the Toronto Star, Toronto Life and HuffPost.

She joins YTV on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
