John Stamos touches upon his friend and former TV wife Lori Loughlin’s college bribery scandal in an interview with GQ.
The 56-year-old says of Loughlin, who has pleaded not guilty, and her ongoing legal troubles: “I gotta be careful.
“I want to wait until the trial happens, if it does, or whatever the result is, and then talk about it.”
When asked if he’s still close with her, Stamos adds: “I’ll tell you one thing that has been strange is: Honestly I can’t figure it out. It doesn’t make sense. I talked to her the morning everything hit. I just can’t process it still.
“Whatever happened, I’m pretty sure that the punishment is not equal to the crime, if there was a crime.”
Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli have been accused of paying $500,000 to have their two daughters labelled as recruits to the University of Southern California crew team, even though neither participated in the sport.

Stamos, who married Caitlin McHugh last year, also talks about his party days in the interview and how he’s changed now that he is a husband and father.
“Everybody has their own bottoms. I haven’t been through anything more than anyone else has. In fact I’ve had a beautifully charmed life. I think it was a fear of growing up. I mean, you throw a stick in this town and you’ll hit six guys with Peter Pan syndrome.
“I’m a poster boy for it. I shoulda had six months as a free fall but I dragged it out about 10 years.”
