Alex Trebek Makes Triumphant ‘Jeopardy!’ Return After Pancreatic Cancer Treatment: ‘I’m Still Here’

Canada’s favourite game show host, Alex Trebek is back on “Jeopardy!”

The show’s longtime host recently made his triumphant return following intensive treatment for pancreatic cancer. Trebek, 79, is currently taping shows for the 36th season of “Jeopardy!” confirms The Hollywood Reporter.

“I’m on the mend, and that’s all I can hope for right now,” Trebek said in a video update. “We’ve got some exciting things coming up, and I can’t wait to share them with all of you… let me tell you, it’s going to be a good year.”

Trebek told the audience he has “gone through a lot of chemotherapy.” Back in March, Trebek revealed he was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer.

The beloved game show host made his official on-camera television return on Monday’s season 36 “Jeopardy!” premiere. “Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to our show,” he said.

“I truly hope you folks have enjoyed revisiting some of our special tournaments throughout this past summer,” Trebek continued. “But today, ‘Jeopardy!’ begins its 36th season on the air and I’m happy to report, I’m still here.”
