Eric McCormack Requests That Trump’s Donors At Hollywood Fundraiser Be Named

Eric McCormack is being slammed for requesting that Donald Trump’s donors that attend an upcoming California fundraiser be named.

The Canadian actor asked The Hollywood Reporter in a tweet to “kindly report on everyone attending this event, so the rest of us can be clear about who we don’t wanna work with.”

People slammed the “Will & Grace” actor for voicing his opinion.

“Hey @jack is this tweet openly threatening to ‘blacklist’ American Citizens in Hollywood okay for the good of society? Just asking for a friend,” “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Isaiah Washington posted.

Actress Maeve Quinlan added, “How wonderfully fascist of you @EricMcCormack! Yes, how dare anyone in a FREE COUNTRY actually be FREE to support someone that you don’t or have an opinion that differs from yours. Anyone that doesn’t get in line with your opinion should absolutely be blacklisted from work.”

And the backlash continued.

ET Canada has reached out to the actor for a comment on his dividing tweet.

Although, McCormack did have supporters of his view. Co-star Debra Messing retweeted his message with the caption “co-signed” and Jon Cryer simply just retweeted it.

Messing’s tweet received far less backlash, with many supporting the idea of naming the donors.
