Ariana Grande shared a video from a recent concert in which she displays some impressive vocal gymnastics, her voice soaring to hit some upper-register high notes with impressive ease.
The video, which was uncaptioned, captured the attention of several celebrity fans, with the likes of Charlie Puth, Lizzo, Rita Ora and Kristin Chenoweth all raving about her performance.
“That Bb u just hit sis….,” wrote Lizzo in a comment, while Puth marvelled, “You are insane.”
Ora merely posted emojis of hearts and flames in her comment, as Chenoweth wrote, “Omg wow!! Babygirl!!”
Despite the numerous accolades, one person who viewed the video wasn’t impressed, reports E! News.
“It sounds like autotune and probably not live,” commented one of Grande’s followers. “I mean you are a great singer and I love your voice and songs but this doesn’t sound live.”
It didn’t take long for the 26-year-old singer to set the record straight.
“Naw with all due respect, i could do this in your living room for you, fam. with no sound mixing or help at all,” she clapped back.
“i could do it on broadway (and did). i can do it in the shower. in the car. its my gift / it’s why I’m her,” she concluded in her mic-dropping response.
