Kristen Stewart and “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson have remained tight-lipped about their two-year relationship, which ended in 2013, but Stewart is opening up about their romance in a new cover story for the October issue of the U.K. edition of Harper’s Bazaar.
In the interview, the 29-year-old actress reveals why neither she nor Pattinson, 33, have never discussed their relationship despite the extreme public fascination.
“When me and Rob were together, we did not have an example to go by,” she tells the magazine. “So much was taken from us that, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, ‘No, we will never talk about it. Never. Because it’s ours.’”

The openly bisexual star also candidly addresses her refusal to downplay her sexuality, despite the negative impact it may have on her career.
“I have fully been told, ‘If you just like do yourself a favour, and don’t go out holding your girlfriend’s hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie.’ I don’t want to work with people like that,” she insists.
And while she may not be suiting up as a Marvel superhero anytime soon, Stewart will soon be seen heading the cast of a new “Charlie’s Angel” revival directed by Elizabeth Banks.
“I did ‘Charlie’s [Angels]’ because I’m a huge fan of Liz Banks and I always felt she vouched for me,” says Stewart. “I always felt, like, she doesn’t think I’m a freak.”
The October issue of Harper’s Bazaar‘s U.K. edition hits newsstands on Thursday Sept. 5.
