Robert Pattinson admits he was rather annoyed when the “Batman” casting news leaked.
It was revealed earlier this year that Pattinson would be replacing Ben Affleck as the new Caped Crusader.
He’s now spoken to Variety about how he felt when the announcement emerged online earlier than planned.
“When that thing leaked, I was f**king furious. Everyone was so upset. Everyone was panicking from my team. I sort of thought that had blown up the whole thing.”
He admits he was worried he’d lose the role: “It was terrifying. I was like, ‘Oh f**k! Does that screw me because they are so intent on secrecy?’”
Pattinson adds of trying on the Batsuit for the first time: “It’s maybe the craziest thing I’ve ever done in terms of movie stuff. I put it on. I remember saying to Matt [Reeves, the screenwriter], ‘It does feel quite transformative!’ He was like, ‘I would hope it does! You’re literally in the Batsuit.’”
The star also says the reaction to the casting was “less vitriolic” than he was expecting.
“It’s much more fun when you’re an underdog. There’s no expectation of you.”
