Charlie Sheen Celebrates Being Sober For A Year-And-A-Half: ‘It Was Time To Make A Change’

Charlie Sheen is looking back at a big change in his life.

In a new sneak peek at “Jay Leno’s Garage”, the “Two And A Half Men” alum, 54, who has battled substance abuse for years, opened up to host Jay Leno about finally becoming sober.

“Well, this is the new Charlie Sheen we’re seeing,” Leno, 69, said at the beginning of the clip. “You look good!”

“About a year-and-a-half ago, it just hit me that I knew it was time to make a change,” Sheen confessed before confirming that he hasn’t had a drink since.

“And, you know, it didn’t require some crazy rehab stint or a shootout with the cops,” he said. “It didn’t require anything super dramatic and crazy and front-page news.”

This isn’t the first time Sheen has opened up about his sobriety, earlier this year he chatted with People magazine at his 14-month sober mark.

“I really focus on my health, my family and work will come next. I’m excited to be excited again,” he said. “It was just one of those epiphany moments.”
