During an exclusive interview with ET Canada, the 29-year-old singer explains “Drink About Me”, his first release in nearly two years, is a unique twist on a classic tale.

“A lot of people think back to some of the greatest memories they’ve ever had and they do it while having a cocktail, and we wanted to take that story and make it bigger and better.”

The music video was filmed on the beaches in the Bahamas and stars “Bachelor” franchise power-couple — and Kissel’s good friends — Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick.

“We wanted to cast a real-life couple so that legitimate sparks can fly,” says Kissel on casting the pair. “With a video like this and a song like this you need a great video to take the song to the next level and truly bring these lyrics to life.”

Kissel sings, “I hope a margarita puts you on the coast with me / A cold Corona takes you down to Mexico,” while we see Bristowe and Tartick adding to the romantic visual.
