Bill Hader has Finn Wolfhard to thank for his role in “IT: Chapter Two”.
The “Saturday Night Live” star joined Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” on Tuesday night and confessed that Wolfhard had a lot of say as to who would play the older version of his character Richie in the new sequel.
“So Finn, when they asked him, ‘Who do you want to play you in the sequel?’, because they all grow up, he said he wanted me to,” Hader explained. “I thought, ‘Oh, that’s sweet, and my agent sent me a little clip of him saying that, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s nice’.”
But as it turns out, the “Stranger Things” star’s words were really powerful.
Hader added: “And then, like three months later, they were like, ‘Hey, you got a meeting to meet with the director of ‘IT’.’ And I was like, ‘This Finn kid’s like super powerful. He’s like Joffrey!'”
“IT: Chapter Two” hits big screens Sept. 6.
