Less than a year after getting married to Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra is opening up about how she keeps her relationship strong.
While chatting with ET Canada’s Sangita Patel in the Festival Central Lounge during TIFF 2019, the actress reveals how the message in her new film “The Sky is Pink” mirrors her relationship with her husband.
“Just like in this movie, it’s communication,” she reveals, saying it’s the most crucial way to keep any relationship healthy.
“Listen, I shut down when I have issues. It’s hard for me to talk. I don’t like conflict. I’d rather have a conversation and knock it out and just go back to doing what you have to do. I think communication in a relationship is key,” Chopra continues.
“It’s something I learned since I’ve been married and actually, Nick taught me that,” she adds. “I’m not someone who’s good at it, I get awkward and my toes curl.”
The 37-year-old also can’t help but express how excited she is to have children in the future, saying that “the enormity and the gratitude of just having a child would be amazing.”
She adds: “Now that I’m married it’s really something that’s on your brain. I can’t wait, I think it’ll be amazing.”
The actress also reveals new details about her upcoming comedy with Mindy Kaling, saying the story stemmed from hilarious moments from her own wedding.
“It’s the comedy of my wedding,” she admits.
Although this new flick may give fans a behind-the-scenes look at her four wedding receptions, Chopra admits that she hasn’t even had time to reflect on her big day.
“I haven’t seen all the pictures. I’ve never even seen the video. There’s just been so much that we’ve been doing, both of us, in terms of work and travel. We have a lifetime to do that so it’s fine.”
