Eddie Murphy is in Toronto to promote “Dolemite Is My Name” and stopped to talk to ET Canada‘s Keshia Chanté about his film and upcoming projects.

It is “one of the best movies I’ve done” the actor proudly said while walking the red carpet.

“Dolemite Is My Name” stars Murphy as a struggling singer and comedian who makes a breakthrough when he creates the character Dolemite the pimp.

The film also stars Keegan-Michael Key, Mike Epps, Craig Robinson, Tituss Burgess, and Wesley Snipes.

And if you weren’t lucky enough to catch the actor at the Toronto International Film Festival, you can watch him host “SNL” for the first time in 35 years on December 21, all thanks to his newest character.

“That all started because of the energy from this character bubbled over into all this over stuff that is going on,” Murphy revealed before adding that he is “really excited to [be] going back.”

But as to what the comedian will focus on while hosting remains a secret.

“It’s going to be me. We are going for it, just being myself.”
