It would seem like all anyone at the Toronto International Film Festival can talk about is Robert Pattinson being cast as Batman.
From Kristen Stewart to Christian Bale, everyone is singing his praise.
Variety sat down with the cast of “Ford v Ferrari”, questioning the former Caped Crusader on his thoughts about Pattinson’s casting.
“Good choice,” Bale exclaimed. “He is interesting.”
Matt Damon then complimented Pattinson’s past work, adding, “Yeah, he is really good.”
As for Bale’s advice when slipping on the Dark Knight’s suit, it was the same he gave Ben Affleck: “Just be able to pee by yourself.”
He added: “You don’t feel much like a superhero when you can’t take a piss by yourself.”
ET Canada’s Roz Weston caught up with Bale during his appearance at TIFF, and while the actor revealed Pattinson hasn’t yet reached out to him, he believes the former “Twilight” star is “a fantastic choice” to play Batman. “He’s interesting, you know.”
Bale also told Weston that he’s excited to see Joaquin Phoenix’s performance in “Joker”, which recently took the coveted Gold Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
“Joaquin is one of the best actors around, you know, and obviously I worked with Heath [Ledger] and it’s a brave thing to follow up that performance,” he said of Ledger’s critically acclaimed take on the iconic supervillain in 2008’s “The Dark Knight”.
“He always make interesting choices,” he said of Phoenix, “I’m dying to see it.”
