My name is Dustin and I’m one of the stars of the Canada’s first 3D animated feature: The Legend of Sarila, which is premiering tonight at TIFF Kids! Thanks for stopping by to check out this live web chat dealy. At 2 p.m. ET today I’m going to be on here taking questions, answering them (likely very poorly) and generally trying to force everyone to have a good time regardless of the actual atmosphere in the chat room.
What to ask me, you ask me? Well, unlike the previous sentence, it’s simple: anything you want! You can ask about where I’m from (Yellowknife NT!) or what I ate for breakfast this morning (Wine Gums!) or about the character I play in The Legend Of Sarila (Makussi!)… But now it would be pointless to ask me those things as I just answered them. Shoot. Web-chats are hard.
And, much like every date I’ve ever been on, if we run out of things to talk about to each other before they even have a chance to take our drink orders, we can all just recite Fresh Prince lyrics slightly modified to vaguely reflect TIFF Kids and my movie: The Legend of Sarila, like this:
In West Yellowknife, born and raised,
in the theatre is where I spent most of my days.
Chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin you know,
shooting some movies that are set in the snow.
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
started making trouble in the neighbourhood.
I got in one little fight and my moms like: “Whoa!”
Then: “You’re moving with your Auntie and Uncle in Toronto!”
I’m sure you can all do better, (that’s not true, that’s probably as good as that kind of thing gets) so I encourage you all to try! If you have no questions, send me a rap about you and where you’re from! Or, better yet, send me rhyming questions. I am all about that hip and all about that hop.
Catch me on twitter too! @DustinWMilligan
