Tamron Hall says she was not demoted by NBC, she was straight-up fired.
The American journalist left NBC in 2017 after her “Today’s Take” segment was scrapped in favour of a slot for Megyn Kelly. Now, Hall has her own Global day-time show appropriately titled “Tamron Hall”.
“I go into work one day. I left fired. ‘Demoted’ I guess is what they called it. I called it fired,” Hall told viewers on the program’s inaugural episode. “I am back because of all of you.”
NBC offered her a multi-million dollar deal to stay with the network, but she chose to leave. “Inside, I was falling apart,” Hall admitted. “I had worked since I was 14.”
Hall still has fond memories of her time with “Today”. The 48-year-old gave shoutouts to Al Roker, Willie Geist and Savannah Guthrie, “my ‘Today’ show family who called me and rooted me on this journey.”
You can catch “Tamron Hall” weekdays at 3 p.m. ET on Global.
