“Muppets Live Another Day” will do no such thing on Disney+.
Disney will not be moving forward with a scripted comedy series based on “The Muppets”. The show had a pilot ordered and was expected to be featured on the upcoming Disney+ streaming service that launches on Nov. 12.
“Muppets Live Another Day” is being canned from the streaming service over issues between the writing team and top brass at Disney’s Muppet Studio, according to Deadline.
The series was being written and executive produced by “Frozen” star Josh Gad and “Once Upon a Time” creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis.
“Muppets Live Another Day” was to pick up where 1984’s “The Muppets Take Manhattan” left off. Kermit was to be a central character tasked with reuniting the Muppets to rescue the missing Rowfl.
