Jennifer Lopez may just be Miami-bound.
The entertainment triple-threat is in talks to headline the Super Bowl 2020 (Super Bowl LIV) halftime show, multiple sources told US Weekly.
Lopez has close ties to the city. Her husband, New York Yankees alum Alex Rodriguez, grew up in Miami and the couple often vacations there.
“Yeah, [I’ve] thought about the Super Bowl and it’s in Miami. It’s a big deal, but we’ll see,” Lopez teased to ET in July. “They make their own decisions over there [at the NFL].”
Fans have been rallying for years to have Lopez perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. Jay-Z will consult on this year’s halftime show and teased that JLo is in the running.
“Sometimes it may happen and it may wind up that the person is from the city that they perform,” he said at a press conference in August. “But you don’t want to get in that space ‘cause then who performs in Tampa [in 2021]?”
Lopez recently visited “The Hoda Show” on SiriusXM. When asked if she was performing at the upcoming Super Bowl, JLo paused, chuckled and smiled ear-to-ear before telling Hota Kotb, “I don’t know.”
Super Bowl LIV takes place Sunday, Feb. 2. ET Canada has reached out to Lopez and NFL’s reps for comment. The full hour of Hoda and Jennifer Lopez can be heard on “The Hoda Show” on SiriusXM’s “Today Show” Radio channel 108 on Monday, Sept. 16th, at 1 p.m. ET.
