Ed Helms has a whole new generation of “The Office” fans.
Ever since Netflix welcomed “The Office” to its streaming service, the show’s fandom has kicked into overdrive. Streaming has allowed old fans to revisit the walls of Dunder Mifflin and new fans to meet the beloved cast of characters.
“Now it’s like eight, nine, 10-year-old kids that binge this thing on Netflix,” Helms, who played Andy Bernard, told Jimmy Kimmel. “It’s awesome — I’m so proud of the show.”
“Back in the day, a person would come up and say like, ‘Hey, you’re Andy Bernard, it’s so great to meet you!’ Now, like, 10-year-old kids are running ’round going ‘Rit-dit-dit-doo-doo’! They don’t have the same restraint…”
A tabloid article recently accused Helms of having an affair with his “Corporate Animals” co-star Demi Moore. Helms received a call from his publicist about the accusations while on vacation with his family. He denied the tabloid but was nonetheless anxious about telling his wife.
“Before I can say anything, they go, ’Demi Moore, high five! Can you believe this tabloid thought that you and Demi Moore could be a couple?'” Helms laughed. “Corporate Animals” premieres Jan. 29.
