Juno-winning Lights takes part in the fight against, poverty, famine and injustice in a special live cast for the 30 Hour Famine tonight starting at 7 p.m.!
This is the musician’s fourth year as a 30 Hour Famine ambassador for World Vision, joining students across Canada giving up food for 30 hours. “It’s important for us to understand how fortunate we actually are. Because every day there are kids going without the basics”; says Lights. “The Famine gives us the chance to feel what it’s like for these kids, what it feels like to be hungry. The Famine actually lets us do something to help these kids in need.”;
The student-led movement helps support many World Vision projects, including emergency nutrition in Sudan, helping at risk youth right here in Canada and water projects in Mauritania.
