When LeBron James walks down a street in Akron, Ohio, handing out boxes of pizza to random passersby, heads are understandably going to turn.
That’s the premise of a new TV commercial for Blaze Pizza, the “fast-casual” U.S. pizza chain in which the former Cleveland Cavaliers star is an investor.
In the commercial, LeBron plays “Ron,” a “valued employee” of the chain who seems somewhat familiar to the people he encounters — although most just drop their jaws and can’t believe that LeBron James is offering them a pizza.
As Fox Business reports, the chain currently has about 400 U.S. locations and is poised for future growth thanks to utilizing third-party delivery companies.
“We are jumping on that wave,” says Daniela Simpson, Blaze Pizza’s general manager of the digital growth division. “Previously, consumers didn’t really have any other options because the delivery companies had their own fleet and drivers, and smaller companies couldn’t afford that.”
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that “Ron” has hit the streets to deliver pizza; check out the 2016 ad in which King James originated his pizza-slinging character:
