Millie Bobby Brown Apologizes For Fake Skincare Routine Video After Online Backlash

Millie Bobby Brown has issued an apology after posting a fake makeup-routine video online.

Pushing her own line of vegan skincare, Florence By Mills, the “Stranger Things” star posted a video taking fans on a step-by-step journey through her nighttime makeup removal routine. There’s just one problem: The actress wasn’t actually using any of the products.

Instead, the 15-year-old mimed her way through the regimen, failing to apply any of the products she was promoting directly on her skin. Her makeup remained intact through the entire “routine” while she demonstrated how she used the face mist, scrub, face wash, moisturizer, and lip oil.

Viewers called the actress out for the online fakery with one commenter on Reddit asking if Brown was pranking everyone.

“I can’t believe she’s literally just dry rubbing her hands together and rubbing her face. Like … is this a prank?” the user questioned. Another asked, “WTH was this. Do brands really think we don’t have eyes, like for real?”

On Thursday, Brown published a lengthy note to her Instagram, apologizing for the video. In her post, she chalks up her video faux pas to her inexperience in the digital world.
