Jane Lynch and Cyndi Lauper have been working on a new Netflix show together.
Lynch confirmed the exciting news after she won the Guest Actress in a Comedy Series award for her role in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” at the Creative Arts Emmys Sunday.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lynch said of the show: “We’re our age, I’m almost 60, she’s 65, and we’re looking for our next act without having had husbands or children.
“There will be two other folks in it who haven’t been cast yet. It’s kind of a ‘Golden Girls’ for today.”
She kept quiet about any other details, insisting she wasn’t sure “if I can even talk about it.”
Lynch’s comments come after “Seinfeld” writer Carol Leifer announced she’d be working with the pair on the upcoming comedy.
She posted on Facebook back in July: “IT’S OFFICIAL!! Headed out next week with a new half-hour comedy, starring Jane Lynch & Cyndi Lauper! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 A writer’s dream to work with these two LEGENDS. ⭐️ ⭐️ Can’t wait to see where we land…”
