Ferris Bueller meets a “Mad Max” world in Netflix’s newest series.
In “Daybreak”, Matthew Broderick plays the principal of Glendale High School, where students band together into tribes after a nuclear blast on Homecoming night brings about a post-apocalyptic future.
The series — based on Brian Ralph’s comic-book series — focuses on the students’ navigation of their new world, facing all the danger of a barren wasteland while still dealing with the comedy that is high school.
The series also stars Krysta Rodriguez, Colin Ford, Sophie Simnett, Austin Crute, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Cody Kearsley, Jeante Godlock, and Gregory Kasyan.
“Daybreak” premieres on Netflix Oct. 24.
