Meghan Trainor is paying homage to her favourite sitcom in a big way.
In honour of “Friends”‘ 25th anniversary, the singer, 25, has released her own cover of the series’ theme song “I’ll Be There For You” on the exact anniversary of the show’s first airing.

“I can’t believe Warner Bros. asked me to do this,” Trainor said in a statement. “I’m so honoured! I’m so excited that I get to be a part of celebrating such a legendary and iconic show like ‘Friends’!”

Trainor’s take on the classic track aired on the Z100 radio station on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 8:30 p.m. ET, which is the exact time that NBC debuted the first episode on Sept. 22, 1994.
“Friends” aired from 1994 to 2004 for 10 seasons and launched the careers of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.
