Twitter Gets A Kick Out Of Resurfaced Music Video By Marvin Gaye’s Son

Everything old is new again on the Internet, including a unique music video by Marvin Gaye III.

Marvin Gaye III (MG3) is the eldest son of famed musician Marvin Gaye. The “Sexual Healing” artist adopted Marvin Gaye III in 1966 shortly after his birth.

Fast-forward to 2013 and MG3 released his first dance single titled “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”. The song was a collaboration with D’Extra Wiley. Note MG3 was already 46 or 47-years-old at the time of this release.

The music video, co-directed by Jonathan Heap and Curtis Elerson, reignited interest over the weekend. Some suggested the song was outdated (even for 2013) while others poked fun at the stalker-ish nature of the music video and use of Gaye’s likeness.

Even Questlove chimed in on the video. He poked fun at a lawsuit which accused “Blurred Lines” of taking elements from Gaye’s song “Got To Give It Up”.
