Lizzo’s ‘Truth Hurts’ Ties ‘Hustler’ Co-Star Cardi B For Longest-Running No. 1 Song By A Female Rapper

Lizzo and Cardi B share a prestigious honour.

Lizzo’s breakout song “Truth Hurts” has topped Billboard’s Hot 100 for a third consecutive week. This ties her with her “Hustlers” co-star Cardi B., who achieved the same feat with “Bodak Yellow”.

Lizzo and Cardi are now co-titleholders for longest-running number 1 song by a female rapper. However, the timelines of the two artists are vastly different.

Cardi B turned the hip-hop game on its head when she dropped “Bodak Yellow” in June 2017, topping the Hot 100 three months later. Lizzo released “Truth Hurts” one week after Cardi first topped the chart, but it took nearly two years for “Truth Hurts” to top the charts.
