It was hard to miss Sean Spicer’s “Dancing With The Stars” debut, in part because he was wearing a fluorescent green puffy shirt.
Trump’s former Press Secretary has been matched with professional Lindsay Arnold who choreographed the salsa to the Spice Girls’ “Spice Up Your Life”. And while he only scored 12 out of 30, judge Bruno Tonioli called the dance “strangely entertaining,” adding “there were some elements of salsa there.”
Carrie Ann Inaba added it was the “best fluorescent shimmy of the night” while Len Goodman commented that Spicer brought “fun to the ballroom.” Although that is where the positive comments ended. Even Spicer acknowledged that he “started off at a minus 10.”
Following his performance on Monday, an emotional Spicer reportedly spoke with TMZ. He said he was overwhelmed with joy to the point of tears after watching a video of his children watching his performance.
When asked about U.S. President Donald Trump, Spicer reportedly refused to answer the question and said it was his time to shine.
Twitter went wild over the former White House communications director’s performance.
When it was announced that Spicer would be joining this season, many people slammed the show over hiring the controversial figure.
Even “DWTS” host Tom Bergeron criticized the move telling producers that the show should be a “joyful respite from our exhaustive political climate and free of inevitably divisive bookings from ANY party affiliations.”
