Mark Ruffalo is out for justice in the first trailer for the drama “Dark Waters”.
Poised to be an awards season contender, Ruffalo stars opposite Oscar winners Anne Hathaway and Tim Robbins, Bill Pullman, Victor Garber, Bill Camp, and “The Good Place”‘s William Jackson Harper, in the movie.
Ripped from the pages of Time, the story sees Ruffalo play a corporate defence attorney who switches from defending mega corporations to crusading for the environment, filing an environmental lawsuit against the DuPont chemical company and exposing a lengthy history of pollution and corruption.

Directed by Todd Haynes (“Carol”, “Velvet Goldmine”), “Dark Waters” only began filming in January 2019 and was initially expected as a 2020 release. Instead, the film will be ready for a late November release, just in time for awards season. Ruffalo, a three-time Oscar nominee, hasn’t had a non-MCU role since 2016’s “Now You See Me 2” and is already being mentioned in the same breath as Julia Roberts’ Oscar-winning turn in “Erin Brockovich”.
“Dark Waters” arrives in theatres November 22.
