The ladies couldn’t get enough of Elvis Presley but Tanya Tucker says Presley could not get enough of her.
Tucker recently dropped by “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” and told a caller why she rejected Elvis’ advances. It all started when Elvis tried to go in for a smooch during one of his concerts.
“My dad told me, as I was leaving the trailer that night going to the Elvis show at the Hilton, he said, ‘Listen here, that boy can have any girl he wants in the world. Make sure he knows he can’t have you,'” Tucker recalled.
“I did and he tried to kiss me. He constantly asked me to come to Graceland and I never did because I didn’t want to be one of the [girls.] I’m one of the boys.”
Tucker also dished on some of her celebrity country friends, including Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson. When asked about Lynn, Tucker said, “She is doing really good. She calls me and we talk all the time. She is a beautiful person. She is probably my best friend.”
The musician, 60, touched on working with Parton on “Romeo” in 1993. “It was so great that she would even ask me to do something. You want to collaborate with Dolly on anything,” Tucker shared. “I’ve got a lot of ideas for her.”
