Blake Shelton shot to the top of the country charts with his latest single, “Hell Right”, and he’s inviting fans to take a look at the creative process that went into the song via a behind-the-scenes video featuring him recording it in the studio.
Not only does “Hell Right” feature vocals by his fellow country star Trace Adkins, this new video also features Shelton’s sweetheart Gwen Stefani in the studio as well — as was his beloved dog Betty.
“She’s been in here for every vocal,” Shelton says of the dog in a bonus video he shared on Instagram.
While Adkins can be heard in the finished track, don’t look for him in the video; he recorded his part separately.
“When I heard ‘Hell Right’ for the first time, I made it about three-quarters of the way through, and I knew I wanted to record the song, and I instantly knew I wanted Trace on it with me,” Shelton shares in the video.
“I haven’t had that feeling since we recorded ‘Hillbilly Bone’ together,” he adds. “There was something about this song that just said, that just screamed Trace Adkins.”
Fans will be seeing a whole lot more of both Shelton and Stefani when they return for a new season of “The Voice”, premiering Monday, Sept. 23.
