Leonard Cohen’s Son Announces Posthumous Album ‘Thanks For The Dance’, Drops New Song ‘The Goal’

Leonard Cohen’s son Adam has announced details of a posthumous album and new track.

The Canadian singer passed away in November 2016; it was confirmed last year that new music would eventually be released.

The first track from Thanks For The Dance, “The Goal”, was unveiled Friday.

Adam Cohen said in a press release of his late father’s new music, “In composing and arranging the music for his words, we chose his most characteristic musical signatures, in this way keeping him with us.

“What moves me most about the album is the startled response of those who have heard it. ‘Leonard lives!’ they say, one after the other.”
