Lady Antebellum has released the title track and announced details about the group’s next studio album, Ocean.
The 13-track release, the trio’s first full-length LP since Heart Break in 2017, marks the start of a new era after the band’s departure from longtime label Capitol Records.
Ocean will be released under BMLG Records, and “chronicles personal relationships and everyday responsibilities with a balance of growth and maturity that could only come from 13 years of creating together,” according to a press release.
Produced by first-time collaborator Dann Huff, the album allows the award-winning group to let loose, as well as a return to their old sound.
“There’s this theme of returning to the core of who we are — as writers, vocalists and people — that came out in each of these songs,” says band member Dave Haywood in a statement.
The album’s lead single “What If I Never Get Over You”, released in May, has remained No. 15 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart for 18 weeks.
“Ocean is all of the things that we think and feel when we hear the word. This album is immersed in life stories about barely keeping your head above water all the way to those times that make you feel like everything is smooth sailing,” explains Hillary Scott.
Ocean also includes collaborations with country superstars Little Big Town, who provide the background vocals on “The Thing That Wrecks You”.
Here’s the full track list:
1. “What If I Never Get Over You”
3. “Crazy Love”
4. “You Can Do You”
5. “What I’m Leaving For”
6. “Be Patient With My Love”
