Mariah Carey is giving fans a special treat this holiday season.
25 years after releasing her iconic Merry Christmas album, Carey is planning on dropping a two-CD deluxe anniversary edition, featuring the original album and a bonus disc with rare remixes and unreleased live performances.
The singer announced the festive news on Twitter Monday morning, telling fans, “I don’t want to get excited, I’m going to calm down. Christmas is happening — we got to get through Halloween and Thanksgiving first.”
Merry Christmas debuted Carey’s ultimate yuletide tune “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.
Unreleased live tracks from her 1994 Christmas performance at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City and a new rendition of “Sugar Plum Fairy” will be featured on the deluxe version.
Carey also plans on releasing new holiday merchandise, including T-shirts, sweatshirts, stockings and beanies.
Merry Christmas first dropped on November 1, 1994 and the upcoming deluxe version is set to drop on its 25th anniversary this year.
