Ringo Starr and Jimmy Fallon performed a rather interesting version of the Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine” this week.

Starr became the latest musician to take part in a very colourful “Classroom Instruments” “Tonight Show” skit, with the duo joining the Roots to belt out the iconic hit.

The clip featured an animated submarine, with cartoon versions of Fallon and Starr also riding around on giant fish.

The Beatles drummer played along to the track on a small toy drum set and sung the main vocals, while Fallon played a Casio keyboard, a woodblock, and a kazoo.

Starr is about to release his new album What’s My Name, out October 25, the Beatles’ classic Abbey Road album celebrates its 50th anniversary Thursday.
