Nick Cannon never wanted to engage in a rap battle with blistering lyricist Eminem.
Eminem is famous for his embarrassing his rivals with witty and outright offensive raps. One of his previous targets was Mariah Carey, who the rapper allegedly had a brief relationship with.

Eminem called out Carey following the release of her song “Obsessed”, which addressed him indirectly. Cannon reflected on how he was dragged into the feud when speaking with T.I. and Killer Mike on the latter’s “ExpediTIously” podcast.
“Think about it,” Cannon recalled. “I think we were flying on a jet from Africa or somewhere. And this motherf**ker drops a song talking s**t. Calling [Carey] all types of b**ches and h**s… I’m like, ‘This my wife. My new wife.'”

“I went looking for him,” Cannon continued. “I called managers… I gotta show my wife I’m a man… I said, ‘I know I’m not gonna be able to out rap you but I will whoop your a**.’ Those were the exact words at the time. Cooler heads prevailed.”
Cannon said cooler heads prevailed and that he has since invited Eminem to “have some fun” on the former’s hip-hop comedy show “Wild ‘N Out”.
