Viola Davis had one condition on being a presenter at the Emmys – she had to wear sneakers.
The Oscar-winning actress tells Jimmy Kimmel when she found out she would be presenting the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, she insisted on wearing silver sneakers with her black and white Alberta Ferretti gown.

“I knew I had to present. So I thought I was going to hobble on stage to the podium and just announce the supporting actor,” the actress reveals. “But then I found out I had to walk through the presentation, I said, ‘Hell no, oh hell no.’ I said I will only do it if I can wear my sneakers, and I wore my sneakers.”
When Kimmel asks if anyone would have been able to stop her footwear choices, she replies, “Nobody, because I was ready to fight.”
Davis did wear her Stuart Weitzman heels on the red carpet because “he does make some good shoes.”
