Reports of friction between “Fast & Furious” franchise co-stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson emerged during filming of “Fast 8”, but a social media message from The Rock is officially putting the alleged feud to bed.
On Saturday, Johnson posted a video on Twitter — filmed in the midst of one of his gruelling workouts — in which he offers his gratitude upon learning that his “Fast & Furious” spinoff movie “Hobbs & Shaw” has topped $750 million at the global box office.
After thanking an array of people for the film’s success, including Universal studios, the film’s cast, director and producers, he directs his remarks directly to Diesel.
“Lastly, but not least, I want to thank brother Vin for your support of ‘Hobbs & Shaw’,” he says.
“I saw your [social media] posts, and I appreciate it,” adds Johnson.
Johnson then looks back at his experience with the “Fast & Furious” franchise. “What a wild ride this is. And what a wild ride this has been, 10 years ago, when you and I spoke and you invited me into the ‘Fast & Furious’ family. I’m grateful for that invite, and as you know, my goal was always, all these years, to come into the ‘Fast & Furious’ world and help elevate the franchise in any way that I possibly could,” Johnson continues.

“If I could do that, then I’ve done my job. And now here we are, 10 years later, this massively successful build-out, expansion, we did it the right way, we did it the smart way, and again brother, I appreciate your support,” he adds.
“And of course, all roads lead to one thing. I’ll be seeing you soon, Toretto,” he adds, referring to Diesel’s “Fast & Furious” character.
In a 2017 interview with USA Today, Diesel downplayed reports of a feud with The Rock.
“I don’t think the world really realizes how close we are, in a weird way,” Diesel said of his co-star.
“I think some things may be blown out of proportion,” Diesel explained. “I know he appreciates how much I work [for] this franchise. In my house, he’s Uncle Dwayne.”
