Hercule Poirot is back!
Two years after “Murder on the Orient Express” hit theatres, actor-director Kenneth Branagh has started filming the highly anticipated sequel “Death on the Nile”.
Based on the mystery novel of the same name by Agatha Christie, the sequel brings together an all-star cast, including Gal Gadot, Letitia Wright, Armie Hammer, Annette Bening, Ali Fazal, Sophie Okonedo, Tom Bateman, Emma Mackey, Dawn French, Rose Leslie, Jennifer Saunders, and Russell Brand.
With a screenplay by Michael Green, “Death on the Nile” finds Branagh’s moustachioed Poirot aboard a steamer on the Nile in Egypt when a honeymoon is interrupted by a series of violent murders.
“Crimes of passion are dangerously sexy,” Branagh said of the film in a statement. “Agatha Christie has written a riveting story of emotional chaos and violent criminality and Michael Green has once again written a screenplay to match.
“There are significant new twists, an awe-inspiring desert landscape and a chance to celebrate big-screen entertainment in glorious 65-millimetre celluloid!”
