Guy Ritchie is going back to his roots.
The “Aladdin” director is returning to the screen with the new action-crime-comedy “The Gentlemen”.
Recalling films like “Snatch” and “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”, the new film features an all-star ensemble that includes Matthew McConaughey, Hugh Grant, Colin Farrell, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, and Eddie Marsan.
The first trailer for the film teases the plot, in which McConaughey’s Mickey Pearson, after having built a huge marijuana empire in London, decides to get out of the business.
Pearson’s move sets off a series of scenes and plots throughout England’s criminal underworld, with bribery, blackmail, and murder to spare.
“The Gentlemen” hits theatres Jan. 24, 2020.
