Dolly Parton is getting into the podcast game.
Dolly Parton is no stranger to new ventures, so to add to her ever-growing resume the country icon is stepping into the podcast world. Parton, 73, is working on a nine-part podcast series called “Dolly Parton’s America”. The podcast is in partnership with WNYC Studios and Jad Abumrad.
The series will tackle topics including Parton’s refusal to speak publicly about politics, how she “found God in an abandoned church, and the one time she contemplated suicide,” according to a press release.
The podcast will also feature guest appearances by Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem, Ralph Emery, Rhiannon Giddens, Sarah Smarsh, Helen Morale, Dr. Naji Abumrad and members of Parton’s family.
“Dolly Parton’s America” launches Oct. 15.
